Diwali
Last nov. 13th was the hindu celebration of Diwali. Popularly known as the Festival of Lights, the spiritual meaning is the awareness of the inner light, as a celebration of the victory of good over all evil that masks true inmanent and trascendent nature: the light of higher knowledge over ignorance, love over hate.
Hindus relate many things to this celebration, such as the returning of Rama after his exile or the death of the demon Narakasura by Lord Sri Krishna.
It is celebrated in many ways in the different regions of India, usually with pujas, firecrackers, decorating the house by setting oil lamps and candles, at times also rangoli decorations, and eating sweets and such.
In the last couple of years, i have come so close to India that now it is a very dear part of myself. So i made my (very) little Diwali celebration. And made this photoshot of my Diawli candle.

The Lady
She was in a underground playing her accordion for a few grivnas and we just passed by, and as we passed by we smiled at her. Her son was sick, maybe dead (she did not speak much english)so she tried to earn enough money for her whole family. She called us only to thank us for the smile, that made her feel good in a place where nearly no one looked at her, so she gave us the best she had in return: the most wonderful rendition of Love Story i've ever heard.
